About Us

We have undertaken specialist training in working with adults who are ex-boarding school pupils. We find that such people may be affected by that childhood experience in the most subtle yet devastating ways, and they often exhibit characteristics such as these. They may:

... be 'pillars of the community'

... have a deep mistrust of a personal approach

... value bravery, integrity and public service more highly than personal needs

... be highly successful

... be competent, self-reliant and independent

... be stoical

... have dysfunctional behaviours of which they are deeply ashamed

... be a perpetual 'outsider'

... have a neglected appearance

... be able and willing to endure hardship for long periods without complaint

... keep their distress hidden even from themselves
